Welcome
Thank you for taking time to prayerfully consider Litchfield Christian School for your child’s education.
Our admissions policy connects our school to like-minded families, who are supportive of our philosophy, objectives, standards, and whose children meet our enrollment criteria. Litchfield Christian School is here to serve families that desire more than just a private education.
We aim to empower your child with a Christian education that helps them enjoy the goodness of God so they can develop competence and character, using their gifts in the church, community , and home.
Dr. Jason Plumer — Headmaster, Litchfield Christian School
Academic Freedom
We value the freedom to design our own academic program, free from mandates by state or federal government. Our curriculum is based on Christian virtues and the principles of Western Civilization. We have opted for the Simply Classical approach, which offers a timeless method for acquiring skills while accommodating students with varying learning abilities. The Simply Classical curriculum is a comprehensive and high-quality program that emphasizes a classical Christian perspective. Now more than ever, it is crucial for children to receive a strong foundation in both academics and character.
Biblical Principals
At our school, we believe in integrating biblical principles into every subject that we teach. Our staff is dedicated to not only providing academic excellence but also teaching students how to apply the truths of God’s Word to every aspect of their lives. If you share our belief in the teachings of God’s Word, our school will complement the beliefs and ideals that you teach your children at home. We are excited to partner with your family in educating your child in God’s truth.
Our History
First Baptist Church of Litchfield noticed that some families were struggling with the hybrid schedule and did not have the support system to help their children succeed in the COVID-19 learning environment. To address this issue, First Baptist Church of Litchfield developed Tending the Vine (TTV), a program specifically to support those learners. While serving TTV children, the church leadership identified that many of the children had difficulties in reading, writing, and mathematics, and most of them had some form of a learning disability or were on the autistic spectrum. With Dr. Plumer’s education, experience, and passion for teaching, First Baptist Church of Litchfield decided to open Litchfield Christian School in the fall of 2024 as a means of grace for these students.
Family Ministry
God has created the family to thrive and prosper. At L.C.S., we not only structure the school culture around family, but we firmly believe in providing families with the opportunity to actively participate in their children’s educational journey. We strive to be a source of grace for them, creating intentional opportunities for parent and family involvement. Whether it’s grandparents enjoying chapel with their grandchildren, parents sitting down at the table to help with homework they understand, or serving on parent action teams, we highly value family engagement in their children’s education.
